Crikey, what a brilliant week! I’ve had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day at Wellesley Primary School, Yate, at Stoke Bishop School, Bristol and Trinity First School, Frome.
We’ve washed woolly mammoths, lost and found odd socks and made sandwiches fit for a monkey with help from illustrator Emily Fox. I’ve also had loads of photos sent to me from people all over the UK showing me their fantastic costumes! Chicken Nuggets, Spacemen, Cornflake Lions… so cool.
There’s no nicer feeling than knowing your books are being enjoyed by children and families. Thanks to all who joined in the fun with me this week, and to those who shared their pictures with me – I love seeing them.
I hope World Book Day has inspired you to read, tell and share lots of stories and to get stuck into those brilliant books.
